X06 Video

I've just watched the 'X06 Webcast Briefing' by Major Nelson in Barcelona, and all I can say is "WOW!"

For those of you who are interested, this is a broadcast of the briefing for all things XBox 360 coming up in the next 12-18 months. It's probably the best hour I've spent in front of my PC for a long time, and if you are a gamer, there is a LOT to get excited about! If you want to view this yourself, you can access the video stream HERE.

There's a lot of info in the broadcast, and lots to be excited about, IF you are a gamer!

Of interest to me personally was the following:

Gears Of War - A new first person shooter.
Assassins Creed - An RPG in the same mould as Prince Of Persia set in the 3rd Crusade era.
Blue Dragon - A new RPG from the creator of the Final Fantasy series.
Project Gotham Racing 4 - Need I say more?
Forza 2 - 600 cars, downloadable tracks, fully customisable vehicles.
Rainbow Six : Vegas - You know about this already from a previous blog.
Bioshock - A unique FPS (First Person Shooter).
Lost Odyssey - An amazing looking RPG. Turn based and also from the creator of the FF series.
Splinter Cell : Double Agent - Sam Fisher is back, with a vengeance.
Sensible Soccer - Coming out on XBox Arcade, the classic 90's football game.

And the original DOOM is now available for download at 800 pts.

Also included is the fact that Peter Jackson (King Kong, Lord Of The Rings) is teaming up with Microsoft Game Studios to develop numerous tiltles in the future and creating a game development team called "Wingnut Interactive"

I've provided links to as much as I can, but all the trailers are now available on XBox Live Marketplace for you to download and view at your leisure under the heading 'Bringing It Home' on Marketplace.

Also announced was the HD-DVD add-on for the XBox 360 will retail at £129.99 and will include a Windows Media Remote Control (worth £19.99) and a copy of King Kong on HiDef DVD.

I'm sure you'll agree that there is a lot to look forward to, all starting in November. And in my opinion, Sony has a lot of catching up to do with their new PS3 console. Is the gap going to be too great for Sony catch up? Only time will tell!

Enjoy! And until next time.......
