Google 'in talks' to buy YouTube!

Google is reported to be in talks to buy popular video-sharing website YouTube for $1.6bn (£856m).

And yet again we see individuality and creativity falling into control of one of the internet 'biggies', all for money. Advertising is a valuable sales revenue stream!

It's true you know? Life boils down to one question : "What's In It For Me?"

Everything is becoming commercial. We are now judged on what we have, not who we are. We all compete to climb an invisible ladder of success, but it doesn't matter how high you climb, you will always have people above you. Accept it, the sooner you do, the happier you will be!

But that's complacency and just how we are expected to think. Bullshit! The problem I have is that people who have either a large political, financial or business 'voice' don't utilise that power for the benefit of society instead of self.

Instead we sit and moan about the government and we know they are f**king us over, but we never actually 'do' anything about it do we?

Our action in Iraq and Afghanistan is because we, as a democratic nation, voted in favour of the action, because we put our faith in politicians who we trust to vote for 'the right thing' on our behalf.

But how often they fail, and in fact promote decisions and laws that we do not, as a whole, want.

There comes a time when we HAVE to say enough is enough, and if we can't do anything by the political route, what is left open to us? A mate of mine has the benefit of being able to play the guitar and mix music, and he's pretty damn good!

If you like Iron Maiden or Chemical Brothers, or can at least appreciate good production values and better than average guitar playing, head on over to The Useless Eaters music page on Soundclick.

But listen to, or at least read the lyrics to each of his tunes. The guy could publish the lyrics as modern day poetry, and it's a damn sight better than the modernist crap we get today.

Anyway, that's my rant over with.
