TV Licence Fee Increase On The Cards

The cost of a television licence fee is likely to go up in line with inflation, government sources have revealed.

The BBC has asked the government for a rise of 2.3% above inflation for the next seven years, meaning the licence could rise to £180 by 2013.

Now they say it's to help pay for the new on-demand TV they are planning.

I understand that this new technology has to be paid for, but there are considerations that need to be taken into account before applying a blanket price increase!

If you are not utilising the services, like interactive or using on-demand TV, why should you have to pay for it?

We should at least provide free TV licenses to pensioners to provide this level of customer service.

But hang on, the number of pensioners in the UK is rising rapidly as we live longer.

That's just too much money to lose eh?
